  On the afternoon of December 26, a group of four people from the Ministry of Education, led by Fang Jun, deputy director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department, and Wang Yi, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office and Supervision Department, visited and inspected Sino-Danish Center, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Wang Yanfen, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and executive vice president, presided over the reception. Hu Zhengyi, director of the International Education Joint Party Committee and director of the Sino-Danish Center, Zhao Hong, dean of the Sino-Danish College, Yan Dunyan, head of the Undergraduate Department, Xie Yong, Director of the International Cooperation Division and Wu Xuan, deputy secretary of the International Education Joint Party Committee, participated in the meetings.

  Ms. Wang Yanfen first introduced the basic situation of UCAS and the achievements in international cooperation and exchanges. She said that the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences is a university without walls. Based on the system of “owned by all, co-governance, sharing, and common development”, it has formed a unique science and education integration university with 116 postgraduate training units (CAS Institutes) across the country. University of Chinese Academy of Sciences actively constructed an entity science and education platform to promote the internationalization of higher education, and successively established Sino-Foreign cooperation units such as Sino-Danish College. She also introduced the development opportunities and responsibilities that University of Chinese Academy of Sciences faced in the construction of Huairou Science City.

  Ms. Zhao Hong introduced the development process, management mode, college characteristics, teaching faculty, student management, comprehensive reputation, industry-university-research cooperation, future planning of Sino-Danish College to Mr. Fang. Dean Zhao Hong said that in the future, the focus of Sino-Danish College will be on improving the quality of university running, the internationalization level of management teams, the quality of students, expanding the enrollment scale and setting up the Sino-Danish Science and Education Fund, and establishing Sino-Danish College as a well-known brand of Sino-foreign cooperative education in the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences by 2025.

  Mr. Yan Dunyan mainly introduced the training mode, the teaching faculty and the enrollment situation of the undergraduate department. Before the enrollment of undergraduate students, the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences conducted a serious investigation on the training system of some well-known foreign universities, and designed the current curriculum modules in combination with the characteristics of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences- integration of Science and education.


  Mr. Fang expressed that through this trip, he hoped that he could further understand the practical experience of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in undergraduate education and Sino-foreign cooperative education. Mr. Fang was very interested in the management mode, curriculum and academic requirements of Sino-Danish College and undergraduate department. He put forward constructive suggestions on related issues and emphasized the important role of humanities education in student development.


  "The foundation is invisible, but without a strong foundation, it is impossible to build the tall building. In order to build a ten-storey building, we have to conscientiously lay a good foundation." Mrs. Wang Yanfen used a simple example to summarize the understanding of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences to build a foundation for higher education.


  Mr. Fang summarized that this trip has been very rewarding. He praised the innovation system of science and education integration of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and the unique mode of running the Sino-Danish College. He said that although the Sino-Danish college model is difficult to replicate, it is worthy of study by other cooperative schools and institutes. He wishes UCAS a better future.
